Lets get into it:
Any door is every door. Cassie works in a NYC bookshop when one day a man leaves something behind for her. This gift of a book changes her whole life and sets her on a wild adventure spanning decades in a matter of days. (confusing now, but will make complete sense when you read it!)
Highlights:
This was genuinely fun. It read like a gory Magic Tree House novel. It felt like one of those imagination stories you play out in your head before drifting off to sleep (without the scary stuff of course). I cried, I reflected on little things that felt relevant to my life and ultimately relevant to this human experience.
Lowlights:
This wasn’t a five star read for me as there were a couple passages that poorly represented female characters. It’s not a huge deal - otherwise I would have knocked another star. But it was a reminder to me, why I usually gravitate towards female authors as a female reader.
Final Take:
Grab this if you're in search of an escape and an adventure. Don't take it too seriously; instead, open your imagination for a fun ride with this book!
