new to the tbr
I work in marketing, which means I'm very familiar with all the different terminologies, verbiage, and buzzwords in the industry. My favorite is one that applies to me in multiple areas of my life - 'data is king.' I admit, I fell off last year with my tracking. I read so much that I just bounced to the next book without recording it. At the end of the year, as I watched all my friends participate in their reading wrap-ups, I was JEALOUS. This year, I vowed to be extremely diligent with recording the books I read and giving them a star rating so that I could look back and give recommendations more easily to my friends. All that to say, one of the data points I want to track this year is when I buy the book versus when I read it. I also have to add that I have a small obsession with checking ebook sales, as in it's my favorite activity to end each day with. So about 1/3 of these purchased books were bought at a steep discount (usually $5 or less) because of this bad (great) habit of mine.
To continue with corporate jargon- we're nearing the end of Q1, and I'm so excited to share my favorite reads with you. I'm also proud of myself for working through my TBR as I purchase. My budget might not agree with me, but it makes me feel better about buying more books when I'm actually reading what I buy!
Here are all the books I purchased in Q1 thus far - and it very well might grow in these last two weeks because I lack serious self control.
